The counselors have a Teens Helping Teens handout available for students. This was distributed in 2014 to Woodrow students.
We hope every parent looks at this information and initiates a conversation with their student about how to deal with stress, loneliness etc. in their lives before the pain gets beyond control and the student is at risk for depression and/or suicide. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has handouts for families on various mental health topics. The list is comprehensive and includes topics such as ADHD, depression, PTSD, Autism, school refusal etc. The mental health handouts are available in English and Spanish as well as other languages.
